Those Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer Are Perfect for Making Your Home Look its Best

Even though the days are long and hot and most of us want to relax with family at the beach, summer is the ideal time to refresh your home's exterior. Not around to do it yourself? Can't bring yourself to leave the pool? Hire trusted local professionals!

Among the top recommended summer home maintenance tasks are exterior window cleaning, soft washing roofs and siding, pressure washing patios, walkways, and driveways, and resealing asphalt.

What the Heat Does to Your Home

Every season brings with it unique challenges for maintaining your home's appearance. The effects of the summer heat, humidity, pollen, and dryness can be slightly more subtle (depending on where you live), but no less important.

Not seeing clearly when looking out at your pool, yard, or kids playing in the sprinklers? If your window view is hazy, like there's a thin cloudy film blocking your view, it's time to get them back to sparkling! We recommend having your home windows cleaned at least twice per year, but many customers prefer to have their windows cleaned seasonally.

Haven't taken care of those dingy stains and streaks on your roof and siding? The sun can bake them on and really make them stand out. When it's sunny and you're entertaining outdoors, you definitely don't want algae, mildew, and discoloration ruining the party. Summer is the perfect time for eco-friendly and gentle soft washing to restore your roof and make your siding look new again. It's also a great time to refresh that cement or paver brick patio, walkway, or driveway.

Do you have an asphalt driveway? Did the winter temperatures or the spring moisture cause issues like cracking, crumbling and buckling? If you're late to the game on getting your asphalt driveway re-sealed, the sun and heat are only going to exacerbate the damage. Additionally, the harsh UV rays and humidity will oxidize and fade your asphalt to a dull gray and further deteriorate the surface over time. Rejuvenate your asphalt surface by having it re-sealed every 2-3 years. This will prevent moisture from penetrating the surface and causing deeper damage, as well as restoring your driveway's appearance from a dull gray to a nice new black. Just a reminder, if you're not having your asphalt driveway re-sealed every 2-3 years, you run the risk of costly repaving.

Summertime home maintenance doesn't have to keep you from enjoying the season — and it will save you more work heading into the next seasons! So kick back, relax, and call your trusted local professionals to help your home shine all summer long.
